The following stories reflect experiences shared from the earlier ministry that helped inspire Faithful Futures. They illustrate the importance of relationships, personal responsibility, and opportunities for young people to discover a different path.
01 | When Accountability Became Personal
The Call Became Something They Valued.
For young men participating from a correctional facility, the weekly call became more than a scheduled activity. It offered encouragement, connection, and an opportunity to hear messages of hope and personal responsibility.
When the possibility of losing access to the call arose because of disruptive behavior, the young men reportedly began holding themselves and one another accountable.
Their response reflected something significant: they had found an experience they valued enough to protect.
Sometimes, the first sign of transformation is the decision to take responsibility.
02 | Finding the Courage to Speak Up
A Message that Could Help Someone Else
Among the initiatives that emerged was a message encouraging children facing bullying, harassment, inappropriate touching, or other troubling experiences to tell a trusted adult.
Known as “Tell Someone,” the message reflected a growing awareness among the participating young men that their voices and experiences could be used to protect and encourage others.
What began as personal reflection developed into a desire to make a positive difference beyond their immediate circumstances.
Finding your voice can become the beginning of helping someone else find theirs.
02 | Turning Experience Into Purpose
They Chose to Use Their Voices.
As the young men continued participating, some began expressing a desire to share what they had learned with others.
Rather than allowing their past decisions to define their future, they wanted to use their experiences to help school children understand the consequences of poor choices.
They reportedly organized a petition requesting an opportunity to speak with students and encourage them to make better decisions.
Their desire to help others represented an important shift—from focusing solely on their own circumstances to recognizing the positive influence they could have on someone else's life.
Their experiences became an opportunity to help others choose differently.
04 | When Others Began to Notice
Positive Change Reached Beyond The Call
As stories of personal growth and increased responsibility emerged, the influence of the ministry reportedly began attracting attention beyond the participating group.
One account describes a conversation with a local mayor who had become aware of positive changes among young men previously viewed primarily through the lens of their past behavior.
Their growing willingness to demonstrate leadership and help other youth offered a reminder that encouragement, accountability, and opportunity can influence how young people see themselves—and how others see them.
Change becomes even more meaningful when it inspires hope in others.
The Call That Changed It All
WHERE THE IMPACT BEGAN
What began as a weekly prayer and encouragement call among a small group of men gradually became a source of hope, connection, and accountability for people from different walks of life. Through shared experiences, biblical encouragement, prayer, and honest conversations, the call created an environment where individuals could seek guidance, confront personal challenges, and encourage one another toward positive change. Over time, its reach extended into communities, schools, recovery programs, and correctional facilities.
One particularly meaningful development occurred when the call was introduced to young men in a youth correctional facility. What followed demonstrated the influence that consistent mentorship, faith, and genuine care could have on young lives. These early experiences helped shape the vision that would eventually become Faithful Futures: Beacon of Hope Boys Ranch.
